Our letting agent Barbara Beaber is one of Paige & Petrook’s longest serving team members, she’s a highly experienced Lettings Negotiator who enjoys helping tenants find the right home and landlords the right tenant. So, it’s no wonder that she won the Best Letting Agent in Pinner in the AllAgents 2017 People Awards for Customer Experience. Since her win, we decided to have a chat with her about what it’s like working at Paige and Petrook.
How long have you been working for Paige and Petrook?
I started working at Paige and Petrook in October 1994. For the first 13 years I headed up the block management department and later joined the lettings team in January 2008.
What does your role involve?
A Lettings Negotiator’s role is to secure the most suitable tenants for our Landlord/clients and assist prospective tenants find the right property.
From valuing and registering properties, arranging viewings and negotiating offers, there follows a significant amount of administrative work in respect of referencing (we are now also required to do the job of the Home Office and carry out all the Right To Rent checks!) drawing up a Tenancy Agreement and arranging the check in. We will endeavour to ensure that everything runs smoothly for both Landlord and Tenant from the start of negotiations to the commencement of a tenancy
However, it’s never just about doing a ‘deal’. We understand that moving is a very stressful time for people, whatever their circumstances. I believe we do go the extra mile to make tenants feel comfortable and their move as simple and painless as possible.
What do you enjoy most about working at Paige and Petrook?
The job can be very stressful at times but I am very fortunate to work with a great team of people; we all really do get along and work very well together.
Why do you think you have received this award?
I understand the award is based on the number of 5 star reviews posted online. All the staff at Paige and Petrook work tirelessly to provide an excellent service for both landlords and tenants and having received those great reviews it’s encouraging to know that all the hard work and dedication is appreciated.
